How do Floodsax work? Floodsax absorb water to become taut and puncture–proof within five minutes. Once the water is in there, it stays in there and the bags act just like sandbags to keep floods at bay. They are designed so they mould into doorways to keep floodwater out. They are incredibly quick to fill with water and their semi-porous inner liner has hundreds of absorbent crystals which retain the water against tremendous pressure.
